***Preben Maegaard, born 1935, is a Danish renewable energy pioneer, author and expert. Since the first oil crisis in 1974 he has worked locally, nationally and internationally at the organizational, political and technological level for the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy.

1984 till 2013 he was director of the Nordic Folkecenter for Renewable Energy, www.folkecenter.net . In this capacity he created innovation and implementation of wind turbines, system integration and solar energy. Renewable energy technology was transferred to numerous pilot projects worldwide involving hundreds of dedicated trainees from all continents which paved the way for leading positions in their home countries.

In the period 1980 till 2002 Preben Maegaard served on several Danish national governmental committees and councils for the development and implementation of renewable energy

From 1979 to 1984 Preben Maegaard was chairman of the Danish Renewable Energy Association, OVE, www.ve.dk; 1991-2015 vice-president of EUROSOLAR, the European Renewable Energy Association www.eurosolar.org; when the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA), was founded in 2001 he became its first president, www.wwindea.org, till 2005; in 2001 chairperson of the Committee of the World Council for Renewable Energy, (WCRE) www.wcre.org. Since 1999 board member of the European Renewable Energies Federation (EREF) www.eref-europe.org . In 1996 he became member of the board of EUROSUN, an intergroup within the European Parliament. 1999-2002 he was Renewable Energy Adviser to the President of Mali, Alpha Konare, leading to the establishment of the Mali Folkecenter, www.malifolkecenter.org.
For four decades, Preben Maegaard has been a conference director, organizer, speaker and/or participant of numerous national and international seminars, workshops and conferences. He is author and/or co-author of numerous reports, articles and periodicals in Danish, English and German within renewable energy and sustainable development; he has received a number of awards. The challenge to the world's first floating wind farm

Career history:

Professor Takeshi Ishihara was graduated from Tsinghua University, China. Later he earned Master's and a PhD of Civil Engineering in the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. He subsequently joined Institute of Technology, Shimizu Co. Ltd. as a researcher in 1992 and was engaged in environmental engineering and the wind resistant design of high rise buildings and development of respective technologies. He was appointed associate professor of Department of Civil Engineering at The University of Tokyo in 2000, moved to Institute of Engineering Innovation as associate professor in 2004 and was then promoted to full professor in Department of Civil Engineering in 2008.

Professor Takeshi Ishihara is the president of Japan Wind Energy Association (JWEA) from May 26, 2014. Japan Wind Energy Association, founded in 1977, is the largest wind energy association in Japan. He also acts the chairman of Dynamic Analysis and Structural Design Committee for Wind Turbines in Japan, a project leader of “Research and Development of Offshore Wind Power Generation Technology” funded by New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) and a technical advisor of “Fukushima Floating Offshore Wind Farm Demonstration Project” funded by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).He edited the first guidelines for wind turbine system -- "Guidelines Design of Wind Turbine Support Structures and Foundations", and presided over the design of the world's first floating offshore wind farm.

  • Dr. Venkatesh Raghavan is currently working for EPOS India Pvt. Ltd (A TDK Group Company) as President Power Quality Solutions. He has over 26 years of industrial experience and 2 years of academic experience. Prior to joining EPCOS he has worked in various functions and capacities for Crompton Greaves Ltd. for 19 years, with first 13 years in corporate R & D and the last 6 years heading multi-locational multi-product profit centers.
  • He graduated in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Trichy and had obtained his Master’s Degree in High Voltage Engineering from College of Engineering, Anna University and Doctoral Degree from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
  • He has also completed a one year certificate course on “Programme on Energy, Environment, Resources and Sustainability” by Tata Energy Research Institute, New Delhi and University of Delaware, USA and a 18-month executive MBA, “Business Leadership Programe” by Thapar Human Resources Development center, Pune.
  • He has 15 patents, 11 design registrations and more than 50 papers to his credit and has delivered over 100 invited lectures covering subjects such as power quality, renewable energy, energy conservation, , innovation management, technology management and high voltage engineering.

After a fulfilled life Volker volunteers as board member of WWEA, as filmaker, author and advisor.
As a past global entrepreneur and St. Lawrence College president when asked how can you as a industrialist be a environmentalist? His answer: How can you not be? To live a sustainable and healthy life is shown in his converted zero CO2 home. He grows vegetables in and out door year round pioneering new ways as mentor and friend for his many present and past students & apprentices. He puts our present economic model up for revision. In his last book "Canada Enroute to Prosperity" exiting ways are shown how it should be. Wasteful "Growth Thinking" is out the focus is on "Quality" and "Equity". Casino like stock exchanges must instead of trends deal in real book values and returns. Only Equity between people and fair access to learning and training will create a well educated sustainable planet with happy and healthy people. We need to act now not tomorrow! Volker has been deeply involved in co-operative banking. He founded a renowned Music , Arts and Heritage Festival. A few of his prestigious awards: 2003 “Business Person of the Year”. 2006 Ministry “Apprenticeship Award” 2007 Technology Council Champion Award.2007 inducted into the “Klaus Woerner Skilled Trades Hall of Fame“ by Skills Canada, Ontario with this highest Canadian recognition.. Visionary of the Year 2011 inducted in the Hall of Fame. Out of hundreds the film "Winds of Change" has 2010 been nominated for best Canadian documentary Film. A film serie is being created : "Change of Hearts" The Crowning of his career. This will consist of hundreds of small video clips -manuals to for all practical needs when creating a sustainable world. His whole life Volker helped to introduce long overdue change.
